INTRODUCTION

Water quality is one of the most critical indicators of environmental pollution and it affects all of us. Water contamination can be accidental or intentional and the consequences are drastic unless the appropriate measures are adopted on the spot. The global need for developing novel platforms for real-time monitoring of various water pollutants is well-recognized.

Current reliance on sampling and laboratory analysis is time consuming and expensive.
Concentration of Contamination is low and hard to detect.
Manual detection and discrimination by human eye is dependent and redundant.
Heavy penalties and challenging reputation and brand.
The bacteria in water that are vulnerable are not identified in situ (live).
Generally it takes anything between 24-72 hours to identify a particular bacteria or fungi.
Samples of microbial / spices are taken to microbiologist lab and then identification are done. Online equipments that are available are not only expensive but also takes time to give results.
